Goat Farming is needed to make Agriculture Profitable…

In the Food Production Business, that is in Agriculture, to increase profits in the agri production, animal farming must be part of the Vegetation production. Goats and Cows when reared in the same Agricultural land give the following benefits:

1) Extra Revenues in the form of cow milk or goat meat
2) Essential Natural manure from the animals increase the agricultural yield
3) After harvesting, the plants can be fed to the animals so that it brings synergy in the form of recycling.

DPT is already testing the goat farming methods like cheap and appropriate food for the goats particularly during peak summer when all the vegetations dry up.

Cow Farming may not be Profitable…

Initial study showed that a cow Farm would not be profitable due to reasons like:
1) High Investment for each cow
2) Cows die often leading to loss of asset
3) Low revenue (For example 1 litre of mineral water and 1 litre of milk cost about the same!)
4) Feeding during summer more difficult
5) Manpower to maintain the animals is costly

However, due to reasons of manure requirement, cow farming in a small scale (sufficient for providing manure for the agriculture land available) is required. Also, at times the goat babies require additional milk (if their mother goats do not provide sufficient milk, etc).

DPT is doing Research to make a viable animal farming business including cows.
